Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Expert Insight for a Competitive Edge

Presented by Joshua Rosenthal is Director of Training at TalentSmart, Inc., a leading provider of emotional intelligence training, coaching, and assessments. While many have some familiarity with the term "emotional intelligence" (EQ), few know what EQ truly is. In this enlightening session, Joshua will take the audience through an exploration of emotional intelligence and what makes up an individual’s EQ. He’ll also share how this applies to an individual’s role in the workplace and how EQ is a skill that can be developed to drive performance. Drawing from over 16 years of TalentSmart’s research and work with a wide range of organizations, Joshua will also unveil what the research tells us about EQ, providing you with special insight for a competitive advantage.

Speaker Bio

As the Director of Training at TalentSmart, Joshua is equipped with the latest applied research findings in emotional intelligence, 360 assessments, and EQ skills development strategies. He is master certified to lead sessions for leaders, management and staff in TalentSmart’s programs Mastering EQ Level I and II, Hiring for Emotional Intelligence and Team Emotional Intelligence.

He offers over 12 years of experience in leadership development, emotional intelligence, facilitation, diversity & inclusion, cultural competency and sensitivity, conflict resolution, and group collaboration for organizational effectiveness.

Joshua has worked with organizations across a wide range of industries to drive strategic learning initiatives, help create and sustain productive people-oriented solutions, and bridge the gap between organizational needs and human capital. His professional background includes leadership development training and consulting with companies including Abbott Nutrition, Crane ChemPharma & Energy, JPMorgan Chase, Libra Group and One Hope Winery, organizations including Amor Ministries, Close Up Foundation and Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America, and higher education institutions, including Princeton University.

Joshua guides learners to sharpen their communication skills, effectively manage and resolve conflict, enhance collaboration, improve results, and exercise effective, ethical, and sustainable leadership. He inspires insight through raising participants’ self-awareness and social awareness and drives results by creating a safe, enthusiastic, and inclusive learning environment.

Joshua holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Journalism, a Master of Science in Culture and Society, and a Ph.D. ABD in Sociology.
