Program Description
Influence is essential to a being viewed as an effective leader – formal or informal – and is an important key to getting opportunities to have a strategic impact within your organization. Cultivating influence – aka becoming an influencer – begins with establishing credibility, mastering the art of communicating professionally, and building strategic relationships both within and external to your organization. People who are able to influence others – even without formal authority – are in a unique position to distinguish themselves as strategic-minded professionals, and they can have a real impact on organizational decision making.

- Credibility – Developing the credibility to be perceived as an influencer

Speaker Bio
Mary Gormandy White, SHRM-SCP, SPHR is managing director of MTI Business Solutions, a leading corporate training/talent development firm. She recently relocated to the Chattanooga area and works with clients throughout the U.S. She specializes in training and consulting serviced focuses on building better workplaces. She has expertise in HR, management, leadership, communication, team building, employee selection, and more.
Mary holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Communication. Her certifications include Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Everything DiSC Certified Trainer/Accredited Workplace Facilitator, and PXT Select Certified Professional.
She has extensive experience in operations management, HR and communication. Prior to moving to Chattanooga, she served in a number of volunteer leadership roles with the Mobile, AL SHRM chapter (she is in her last year as past-president there). She teaches online SHRM-CP and SCP certification prep classes and also taught PHR/SPHR prep courses for many years. She is a frequent keynote speaker at local, regional, and national conferences and association meetings nationwide.
