Program Description

It is clear the #MeToo movement has had incredible successes, such as the investigations brought against Harvey Weinstein, empowering victims of sexual assault, the #TimesUp movement, and organizations actively taking a stance against sexual harassment. However, the #MeToo movement has sparked noticeable pitfalls, including the withdrawal of men in senior roles from mentoring women at work. We will first discuss how the #MeToo movement has affected the workplace, define sexual harassment, and then focus specifically on how to effectively prevent and address sexual harassment in the workplace. Attendees will leave this session with concrete, implementable plans to both prevent sexual harassment in the workplace and combat the unanticipated negative consequences associated with the #MeToo movement.
